Phnom Penh: The ancient drainage system, a sculpture of a monster, which the APSARA Authority started to repair, the first phase in mid-May 2024, was successfully completed in November 2024. According to the Apsara Authority Facebook page.

Ms. Boeut Sopak, an engineer of the APSARA Authority, said that the work of repairing the drainage system of the sculpture in the first phase with a length of 18 meters.

To repair the drainage system of the dragon sculpture, the team collected the scattering stone plan, excavated, researched, registered the stone, repaired, strengthened the damaged stone and reorganized the dragon body. In addition, the team studied the foundation to make the sculpture strong and durable by preventing the flow of water, which is the main problem of destroying the structure of the sculpture as a whole.

“Before repairing the condition of the stone sculpture, the body of the body moved from its original location, scattered with natural stone, no longer acts as a drainage system due to the age of lack of maintenance, especially erosion,” he recalled. Of water destroys the foundation and moves the natural rock that supports the body. “But now the APSARA Authority has completed the renovation of a large and rare single dragon sculpture, so that tourists can visit and find out.”
